Who are we?
We are a father and son Independent film company based in Toronto. We write, direct, act, and produce dramatic films. Currently we are working on a short film called Bumper Hitching. This film is based on a story from The Vales, a novel by George Graziani.
Who was Taid and what's the deal with his egg?
Taid is Welsh for grandad. He was George's mom, Dody's, grandad. If Dody was good she would get the top of Taid's egg ( tough times - there was only one egg for the household).
Taid was a remarkable man, with a passion for learning, and was instrumental in Dody's education.
Taid was the gardener for a Lord Grantham (Downton Abbey) type dude , who , when he died, left Taid all his books and records. This was how Taid, as a working class person with no formal education, was able to learn and develop a knowledge and love for the arts. He passed this on to Dody - teaching her about all sorts of things; like the constellations, classical music, painting, and literature .
We hope that you, like us, find Taid a great source of inspiration.
